Bhopal Metro Project || Bhoj Metro || Bhopal Metro Construction Update 2022
I have described here what's the progress of Bhopal Metro Project. Bhopal Metro Project is also Know as Bhoj Metro. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath laid the foundation stone of the Bhopal metro Project on 26th September, 2019. Existing metro area under construction of 6.4 km is about 70% completed. It is expected that Bhopal Metro will be running by 2023 on Bhopal Metro phase 1.
Laid Foundation Stone for Bhopal Metro Project:
DPR was approved by the central government October 2018. Tendering had started in November 2018 and after a month detailed geotechnical investigation study (soil testing) had begun. The central government has taken a position as a guarantor of the loan.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath of Madhya Pradesh state laid the foundation stone of the Bhopal metro rail project on September 26 in 2019 to be set up at a cost of ₹6,941.4 crores. "Raja Bhoj" Metro was renamed to Bhoj Metro by Chief Minister Kamal Nath of Madhya Pradesh state while laying the foundation stone on September 2019:

The list of Bhopal Metro Project Contractor is-

3. A consortium of DB Engineering and Consulting, Louis Berger and Geodata Engineering,

1. Dilip Buildcon Ltd:
Dilip Buildcon (DBL) was contracted for the design and construction of a 6.22km-long elevated viaduct between AIIMS and Subhash Nagar. Dilip Buildcon begins construction of elevated viaduct between Shubash Nagar And AIIMS starts. Dilip Buildcon begins construction of elevated viaduct between Shubash Nagar And AIIMS starts on January 2019 and started pile testing on April, 2019. The construction of the pier foundation has started on August, 2019.
2. Rohit Associates Architects and Engineers:
Rohit Associates Architects and Engineers prepared the preliminary project report for the metro. The pioneer of the project is Rohit Associates Cities & Rails Pvt. Ltd., the one to make the DPR (Detailed Project Report) of the Bhoj Metro Project.
3. A consortium of DB Engineering and Consulting, Louis Berger and Geodata Engineering :
A consortium of DB Engineering and Consulting, Louis Berger and Geodata Engineering were the general consultants for the Bhopal Metro Project.
4. Names of the bidders to construct elevated Metro stations:
Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) received bids from 4 firms for the construction of 8 Elevated stations from AIIMS to Subhash Nagar for the 14.99 km long Purple Line (Karond Circle – AIIMS) of Bhopal Metro on August,2021. The names of the bidders are-
1. Bansal Construction Works Private Limited,
2. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL),
3. URC Construction (URCC),
4. YFC Projects Private Limited.
5. URC Construction Pvt. Ltd:
URC Construction Pvt. Ltd. has been awarded in November 2021 for the work "Design and Construction of Eight (8) Elevated Metro Rail Stations including Viaduct portion within the stations and Transition spans on either side of the stations (AIIMS, Alkapuri, Habibganj Naka, Habibganj, M.P Nagar Zone-1, DB City Mall, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Subhash Nagar)” for Bhopal Metro Rail Project". The financial offer of URC Construction Pvt. Ltd. at INR 426 crores has been considered for the award.
6. KEC International-SAM India JV:
After the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation opening financial bids, KEC International – Sam India JV emerged as the lowest bidder for the construction work of Bhoj Metro‘s Subhash Nagar Depot (Package BH06). KEC International-SAM India JV has won the contract to construct of Subhash Nagar Metro Depot on March 2022.The construction work of Depot involves an estimated cost of Rs. 323 crores. KEC International – Sam India JV has willing to start the groundwork in April 2022. No concrete work is yet visible.

Bhopal Metro Project is consist of six lines. six lines are-
Line 1 (Green Line): Bairgarh – Awadhpuri),
Line-2 (Purple Line): Karond Circle – AIIMS
Line-3 (Blue Line): Bhauri Bypass (NH12 Junction) – Vasant Kunj Bus Stop
Line-4 (Yellow Line): Ashok Garden Auto Stand – Mother Teresa School
Line-5 (Red Line): Bhadbhada Square – Ratnagiri Tiraha
Line-6 (Brown Line): Habibganj Naka – Mandideep.
Bhopal Metro Phase 1 DPR was approved by central government on October 2018. Bhopal Metro Phase 1’s Deadline is August 2023. Bhopal Metro Phase 1 is under construction till date.
Bhopal Metro Phase 1 is consist of 2 lines and 28 stations.
Line-2 (Purple Line): This line will be started from Karond Circle to AIIMS. The total number of stations is 16 and length of the line-2 (purple line) is 14.990 Km. Line 2 (purple line ) will be elevated alignment as well as underground also.
Stations of Line-2 (Purple Line): Karond Circle - Krishi Upaj Mandi - DIG Bungalow - Sindhi Colony - Nadra Bus Stand - Bhopal Junction - Aish Bagh Crossing - Bogda Pul (Interchange to Red Line)- Subhash Nagar - Kendriya Vidyalaya - DB City Mall - Sargam Cinema - Rani Kamalapati Railway Station - Habibganj Naka - Alkapuri - AIIMS.
Line-5 (Red Line): The starting point of line-5 (Red Line) is Bhadbhada Square and end at Ratnagiri Tiraha.
Line-5 (Red Line) will cover a distance of 12.88 km. 12 metro stations will exist in this line. The alignment of this line will be elevated.
Stations of Line-5 (Red Line): Bhadbadha Square - Depot Square - Jawahar Chowk - Roshanpura Square - Minto Hall - Lily Talkies - Bogda Pul (Interchange to Purple Line) - Prabhat Square - J.K.Road - Indrapuri - Piplani - Ratnagiri Tirahaa.
